Understanding the Measurement: Grams vs Hits
Grams and hits are two common measurements used to determine vapes' capacity. Many people need clarification on these two terms, leading to confusion about how much product is in a cartridge.
Grams are a unit of measurement for mass or weight, while hits refer to the amount of vapor that can be inhaled from a vape cartridge in one puff. Grams measure the cartridge's physical weight, while hits measure its capacity to produce vapor.
Do you know why both units of measurement are used for vape cartridges? In vaping, when activated by heat from a battery-powered device, the coil turns the e-liquid into vapor, inhaled through the mouthpiece. Since different types of vape juices have varying densities and consistencies, vape brands indicate how much product is contained within each cartridge using grams or hits.
In general, most manufacturers prefer using hit counts instead, which refer to the total number of puffs that can be taken from a cartridge. This helps consumers more intuitively judge how long vape lasts.
